How It Works

Step One. Set Up Your Team

Role: Coach

1. Sign Up: Complete our Sign Up Now! form to create your team
   No credit card is required and you have a fully working 10 day trial period to experience our great service before you commit to purchasing it.
   
   
2. Receive Confirmation: Our staff will set up your account so that it is secure and ready
   Once you have completed the sign up process, our staff will configure your team site within a few minutes and you will receive an email notifying you that you are ready to add users and upload film.
   
   
3. Add Coaches and Players: Add coaches, parents and players to your team site
   Type in the email addresses of each member of your team and define their security level. An email invitation will automatically be sent to them letting them know they can access the site. No communication is needed on your part!

Step Two. Upload Film

Role: Parent or Coach

1. Select and Upload Video: Select a film from your computer or DVD to upload
   Select the film that you would like to upload and distribute to your team.  You can define who on your team can view each film, allowing either "Players and Coaches" or "Coaches Only" to view it.  Your film is secure and will NEVER be viewed by the general public.
   
   
2. Video prepared for Streaming: We optimize your film and make it ready to stream
   Once you have uploaded your video, our staff will optimize your video in order to allow it to easily stream to your staff across the Internet.  We are able to re-encode most video file formats to an optimal Windows Media Video file format that has a high quality bit rate.  You will receive an email upon completion notifying you that your film is now ready for viewing.
   
   
3. Automatic Team Notification: Coaches and players are notified when film is available
   Once the film is prepared and loaded into your team site, an email notification will automatically be sent to your team letting them know that a new film is ready for their viewing. No communication is needed on your part!

Step Three. View Film

Role: Parent, Player or Coach

1. Log on to WatchGameFilm.com: Use your web browser or install our client software
   When your team receives an email regarding a new film ready for viewing, they can either use a web browser or our client software to view the game film.  The video is streamed from our data servers to their computer, allowing them to instantly begin watching game film.
   
   
2. Quickly View any part of the Film: Instantly jump to the part of the film you want to watch
   Because we stream the video from our servers, no download process or wait period is required.  Users can instantly jump across the timeline of the film and not be impacted with file downloading.  You can immediately skip to the 4th quarter and watch the play that won the game! :-)
   
   
3. Order DVD for family and friends: Share your game film with grandma and grandpa
   Even though you have instant access to your game film, you may still want to have a physical copy of the game on DVD or you may want to send friends a family a copy of the film.  You can simply order a DVD of any film on your site for a low cost and it will automatically be sent to the address you spcified. 

Step Four. Advanced Features

Role: Coaches

1. Exchange Game Film: Trade game film with other coaches for scouting purposes
   Coaches are able to trade game film with other coaches for scouting purposes.  The exchange is a 1 film for 1 film trade.  For example, if a coach wants to trade 2 films with another coach, he must receive 2 films from the opposing coach in order for the exchange to take place.  Opposing coaches are NOT given access to your team.  They are only given a copy of the film that you have traded with them.  Once the exchange occurs, the traded films are instantly available for both coaches to download or view.  This feature is only available in the School Account.
   
   
2. Comment on Film: Easily add voice comments and notes to your film
   Coaches are able to add voice comments and notes to any of their game film videos.  This feature allows coaches to highlight areas of improvement for players, discuss game strategy with other coaches and more.  Based on security set by you, players and coaches can view certain comments for a particular film.  Simply click on the comment and our software will jump to the appropriate spot in the video.  It will then begin to play the video along with the voiceover from the coach.  This is a great way for coaches to get the most out of teaching game fundamentals or preparing players for an upcoming opponent. This feature is only available in the School Account and requires our Desktop Client Software.
   
   
3. Convert Game Film on VHS: Finally you can get rid of those stacks of tape
   We strive to make our Game Film Service as convenient as possible.  The goal for our service is to help coaches become as organized and prepared as possible while giving them more time to focus on things more important than game film.  For a nominal fee, coaches can have Game Film Network convert all of their old VHS games to digital format and store them on their team site.  Simply order a VHS conversion and send us your tape.  We will convert 1 minute of the film for you in order to get your approval on the quality and to proceed with the full conversion.  Upon completion, your film will be added to your team site and an email notification will be sent to you letting you know that your game is ready for viewing.
